Charitable Projects

Petrus Advisers is proud to having made a donation to the German Ski Association in support of purchasing special medical equipment for Meike Pfister. The donation will fund a carbon plate enabling Meike to keep her training and race schedule with reduced injury risk.

Meike participated in her first World Cup races last year in Garmisch Partenkirchen (Germany) and we hope this donation will contribute to making her season 2017/18 another successful year.

The ‘Offene Burg’ programme creates a cross-generational theatrical platform for theatre lovers and those wanting to discover it. It aims at reaching all parts of society through various innovative projects including amateur theatre training, workshops on current theatre productions, off-premises improvisational and pop-up theatre as well as training courses for teachers.

With the generous support of our investors and partners we have so far been able to donate €30,000. We look forward to extending our cooperation with the Burgtheater in the future.

As in the previous 2 years, we are happy to announce that Petrus Advisers have supported this yearly school event, which is entirely organised by the students of the school, with a donation of € 1,000.

As in 2015, Petrus Advisers are pleased to support this yearly school event with a donation of € 2,900.

Petrus Advisers sponsors young alpine ski racing talent Meike Pfister

We are delighted to sponsor ski racing talent Meike Pfister for the coming racing season. The 20-year old from the Allgäu region in southern Germany is currently training in the squad of the German Ski Association (DSV) and has already had considerable success in her still young career. Meike currently holds the Bavarian Junior Champion slalom title and finished 2nd in the German Giant Slalom Championships.

We wish Meike all the best and continued success for the coming season!

In April 2015 Austria’s U14 Baseball National Team made history: for the first time ever, Austria qualified for the prestigious “Pony League World Series” tournament in Washington, Pennsylvania, USA. Such was the surprise of the qualification that the team now urgently needed a sponsor for their trip to the US.

Petrus Advisers are pleased to have supported the team with a donation of € 16,000 to enable the trip and thus the participation in the tournament. The donation cheque was presented by our Managing Partner Klaus Umek during the opening ceremony of the Baseball European Championship in Vienna on 27th July 2015.

“Flashback – a time to remember” was the motto for this year’s school prom of Parhamer High School which took place on 25th April 2015 in Vienna. With almost 740 visitors it was the biggest event of its kind that the school ever hosted. A midnight live show, free photo booth, teachers’ live act and flashback videos were just some of the many highlights that awaited this year’s guests. Live music by the band “Live Style” and DJ Kapazunda, the Austrian representative of the DJ world championships, created the perfect party atmosphere to celebrate well into the night.

Petrus Advisers are pleased to have supported this successful event, which was entirely organised by the students of the school, with a donation of € 3,000.

Joint project with Diakonie Austria

Petrus Advisers has further developed its social project for “Unaccompanied Child Refugees” in Austria that had been launched last year in cooperation with Diakonie Austria. In the context of this project a charity match took place in June. In a relaxed atmosphere, amateur teams consisting of minors from the refugee centres in Hirtenberg and Mödling, Diakonie supervisors and staff, investors and friends of Petrus Advisers went head to head in a goal-laden match. They received prominent support from Austria Wien legend and former national team goalkeeper Franz Wohlfahrt as well as from former Rapid Wien and Wiener Neustadt player Peter Hlinka. The football event managed to raise EUR 9,200, entirely dedicated for the benefit of the football charity project with Diakonie.

Additionally, Petrus Advisers continues to sponsor the IT facilities and training where the children are taught basic computer applications and thus gain a valuable additional qualification.

Petrus Advisers support this project over two years with a total amount of € 150,000.

Joint project with Diakonie Austria

In 2013 we will fund the set up and running of a project in cooperation with Diakonie Austria to provide for unaccompanied child refugees in the Traiskirchen Refugee Camp.

Unaccompanied underage refugees are children and young people, mostly between the age of 12 and 18 who fled from persecution, war and torture in their home countries without their families. They are completely abandoned having left all social connections and the security of their home behind. The majority (62%) originates from Afghanistan, the next largest groups come from Somalia and Pakistan.

In cooperation with Diakonie Austria we want to help that these child refugees get a fair chance to be integrated into society. The idea is to provide these young people with a comprehensive and meaningful leisure programme while also looking for cooperation with civil society. In early 2013 we established a firm cooperation with the local football club ASV Baden which enables the young refugees to train under supervision of a qualified coach and on a regular basis several times a week at the club’s training grounds. For those less keen on sports, we are implementing an IT training facility with 10 to 15 PC workstations and offer basic IT courses.

Petrus Advisers support this project over two years with a total amount of € 150,000.

Inauguration of new premises for the Day Care Centre of Centre for Youth Integration Belgrade

This year in May, the Centre for Youth Integration in Belgrade celebrated the inauguration of its new location and premises for their Day Care Centre. The project was organised in cooperation with the municipality of New Belgrade, the H. Stepic CEE Charity, Petrus Advisers LLP as well as local sponsors.

The opening ceremony was attended by Klaus Umek and his daughter together with Mrs. Katharina Gamharter of the H. Stepic CEE Charity.

The children’s difficult social backgrounds and poor living conditions force them to spend a considerable amount of their time outside on the streets. With the new premises now comprising a living area to use for workshops, a classroom and a dining area, in addition to the bathroom and kitchen, various activities can now be carried out in different areas allowing the possibility to invite more children.

In 2011, in addition to our annual charitable donations and with the help of our investors, we financially supported the expansion and infrastructure of a Day Care Centre for the Serbian organisation “Centre for Youth Integration” (CYI). The centre is run in cooperation with the City of Belgrade and operated and administered by the H. Stepic CEE Charity.

Through various social welfare programs CYI reach out to ca. 1000 Roma street-involved children, provide educational services and operate a Day Care Centre for which more capacity is needed as a result of high demand. Our donation provides approx. 100 street-involved children with medical and social support during the day. Through the support of the H. Stepic CEE Charity all necessary activities for a successful implementation were carried out free of charge and thus ensures continuous operation for the next few years.
